Cape Town's Diving Guide

1. Fitness to Dive

Participants must confirm their physical and mental fitness to dive and disclose any medical conditions that may affect their ability to dive safely. If in doubt, medical clearance must be obtained prior to participation.

2. Acknowledgment of Risks

Scuba diving involves inherent risks, including but not limited to decompression sickness, embolism, or other injuries. Participants acknowledge and accept these risks and agree to dive strictly within their training and experience levels.

3. Supervision and Compliance

Participants are required to follow all instructions, dive plans, and safety briefings provided by the dive instructors or guides. Divers must stay with their buddy unless trained and certified as self-reliant divers.

4. Liability Waiver

Cape Town Diving Guide and its associated staff are not liable for any injuries, deaths, or damages incurred during diving activities, including those arising from negligence, unless explicitly stated otherwise. Participants must sign the required waiver prior to the activity.

5. Equipment Responsibility

Divers are responsible for inspecting and ensuring the proper functioning of any rented or personal equipment before each dive. Any issues must be reported immediately to the dive staff.

6. Behavior During Dives

Participants must adhere to safe diving practices, including maintaining proper buoyancy, avoiding overexertion, and following safe ascent guidelines. Diving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited.

7. Youth Divers

Minors must have parental or guardian consent to participate in diving activities. All youth divers are subject to depth and supervisory restrictions as outlined by the training agency.

8. Insurance

Participants are strongly encouraged to obtain diver-specific accident insurance to cover potential medical or emergency expenses related to diving activities.

9. Non-Agency Clause

While training and activities adhere to PADI standards, Cape Town Diving Guide operates independently and is not an agent of PADI, nor is it liable for PADI's oversight.

10. Weather-Related Changes

The scheduled date of a dive or course may be subject to change due to unfavorable weather conditions. Safety remains our highest priority, and any adjustments will be communicated to participants as soon as possible.

11. Rescheduling

In the event of a weather-related postponement, Cape Town Diving Guide will work with participants to reschedule the activity to the next available and mutually convenient date.

12. Refunds

If rescheduling is not possible, payments made will be refunded in accordance with our refund policy, minus any non-refundable administrative fees where applicable.

13. Communication

We are committed to keeping participants informed about any schedule changes due to weather or unforeseen circumstances. Please ensure that we have your updated contact information to provide timely updates.
